Ghanaian singer Mzvee has revealed she grew up in extreme poverty and that she had to work her socks off to get to where she is today.

The singer in a sort of video biography of herself has revealed that her parents were not particularly rich when she was growing up and there were days even food they had to eat was hard to come by.

Mzvee said as the last baby, there were times when her siblings would go hungry so that the food available would be given to her.

The singer said despite all that her parents fought to make something out of life before she herself has also managed to become someone – Mzvee.
