The Lioness of Africa, Wiyaala has rescued a sixteen year old girl from getting married to a 36-year-old in Funsi, a District in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

Wiyaala said the act is very common in her region and she called for the immediate arrest of the old man to deter others from trying to marry girls under 18 years.

She added that the victim was a Junior High School student and a member of her “Boys and Girls Club”, a group she created for the youth in Funsi.

Investigations into the marriage has began and the suspect who was in custody at the Wa East District police station for three days has been sent to the Upper West Regional office of the Domestic Violence and victim support unit (DOVSU).

The Indigenous musician has vowed to see every man after chasing teenage girls to marry behind bars or face the full wrath of the law.
