Nigerian social media users landed hot insults on Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, after he tweeted on the killing of unarmed protestors in Nigeria.
A wave of attacks greeted Akufo-Addo for claiming that he has spoken to Buhari who is working on reforms of the Nigerian police.
That really angered Nigerians, who have been shouting for Buhari himself to address them and take responsibility for what’s happening but he has failed to do so.
In those circumstances, hearing from Akufo-Addo about what Buhari is doing was the last thing they wanted.
Following the massacre of unarmed ‘EndSARS’ protestors in Nigeria, Nana Akufo-Addo was hotly pressured by Ghanaians to comment on the issue.
He finally did after many hours, writing on Twitter: “I join all well-meaning persons in calling for calm, and the use of dialogue in resolving the #EndSARS impasse in Nigeria. I have spoken with President Buhari, who is committed to this end, and has begun the processes that will lead to reform,”
The claim to have spoken to Buhari and that he is commited for reform is what angered Nigerians as they want to hear it from the man himself.
