Ghanaian Celebrities to Start Committing Suicide One By One If Endorsing Betting Companies Is Made Illegal

The maddest man in Ghana right now is Ricky Nana Agyeman, aka Bullet.

Bullet took to social media to go on a rant and threatened to move his record label, RuffTown, to Nigeria.

Why would he do that? Well, the reason is simple. Apparently, some rumours are going around that the Ghana Gaming Commission is unhappy with so many celebrities now endorsing betting companies and are strongly considering taking action.

Any action the gaming commission might take will probably be similar to what the FDA did – which is to ban celebrities from endorsing a product they believe is harmful to the youth.

But if Ghanaian celebrities cannot endorse alcoholic beverages and now we add betting companies to the list then they might as well all start committing suicide because they would become 10times as broke as they already are currently.

One of the biggest betting companies in the country, Bet Planet, currently has a huge chunk of Ghanaian celebs on their payroll.

They recently held an event to outdoor these new ambassadors including Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, Salma Mumin, Zynell Zuh, Sandra Ankobiah, Moesha Boduong, Efya, Lilwin, John Dumelo, Wendy Shay, etc etc, the list is endless.

With a dead showbiz industry which has now been hit by COVID, these kinds of deals have become more and more important to keep our celebs on their feet.

Meanwhile, the gaming commission apparently wants to take even these coins away from them.

It’s a truly terrible idea which if they’re considering they should scrap because it makes no sense.

Ghana is the only country where we like to pretend to be holier than we actually are. Alcohol is legal here, as is sports betting, so why pretend that we’re protecting the youth by preventing celebs from endorsing these products?

If alcohol and gambling are really that bad, maybe we should ban them entirely from society rather than allowing huge companies to make money from them but preventing celebs from doing so.

The fact they’re not going to be banned tells you there’s nothing really wrong with them – it’s just a matter of how you consume them.

Back to Bullet, he has threatened to move RuffTown to Nigeria if these draconian laws are implemented.

Remember, when the FDA ban first went into effect, Wendy Shay cried out that she lost a huge endorsement deal due to it, and the same would happen if anything happens to sports betting.

At this rate it would soon be better to mow lawns or carry ‘kponkpor’ for a living than to claim to be a celebrity in Ghana.

God knows things are already bad enough for them.
