Former President Rawlings’ Mother Dies Aged 101

The mother of former President Jerry John Rawlings, Victoria Agbotui, has died.

Madam Agbotui passed away in the early hours of today, September 24th 2020.

She was born on September 9th 1919 and recently celebrated her 101st birthday.

May she rest in peace.

Victoria Agbotui hails from Dzelukope in the Volta Region and gave birth to Rawlings with a Scottish (British) soldier known as James Ramsey John.

She worked for years as the head of the catering department at the Presidency whilst Rawlings was in power.
