Controversial marriage counsellor and life coach, Counsellor George Lutterodt has stated emphatically that the Church is not, and can never be the final authority when it comes to relationships and marriage.
It is a fact that the Church in Ghana has somehow arrogated unto themselves the power to become the final authority on matters bordering on relationships and marriage.
From abusive relationships to divorce, it appears the Church holds the final say on the institution of marriage and even in relationships.
Until the Pastor approves, a woman who is abused in a relationship or marriage is likely to stay in that relationship and get even more abuse in return because of the fear of being ostracized by the Church, should she seek a divorce without the approval of her Pastor.
However, Counsellor Lutterodt believes that it is not every marriage that requires Prayer.
According to the controversial cleric, some marriages just need to be dissolved because there is no way it can work.

“The church is not the final authority in marriages. Most pastors just instruct couples to do things without understanding the root of their issues. Not every marriage issue needs prayers. Some marriages need proper counselling and some need to be dissolved,” Counsellor Lutterodt stated.
