The nurse at the centre of the NHIA wahala has finally spoken up to tell her side of the story.
Doreen Smith, a nurse at the Soma CHPS compound in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district in the Northern Region, sent a petition to the District directorate of the NHIA to investigate her boss, Mahama Sakara, for “s*xual assault” and “attempted rape”.
Her story became a viral sensation after a leaked audio emerged showing her boss trying desperately to force her to have s*x with him.

Despite refusing him over and over he kept pestering her to allow him to ‘chop’. At a point, Doreen even alleges he managed to forcibly insert his fingers into her genitalia.
The audio really painted a vivid picture of what happened that day and Ghanaians rose up to condemn Mr Sakara.
Doreen has now spoken up to give more details of what happened in a radio interview.
According to her when Mr Mahama approached her that day at their facility, he was already erect and ready to ‘fight’.

He told her that he had dreamed about her even before meeting her and was eager to sleep with her.
She continued that he tried endlessly to penetrate her and the only reason she was able to escape was that she was wearing trousers.
She emphasised that this was not the first time he had tried to force himself onto her.
Doreen added that the leaked audio does not even represent the entirety of what happened because they had to struggle for over 30mins before she was able to retrieve her phone to record.
She revealed she has two kids herself and the man is also married but despite her appeals for him to reason, he refused and kept trying to have his way with her.
At the moment, her petition is in the hands of the NHIA District directorate and one can only hope they take severe action against her boss.
