Former Gender Minister Drops Her Husband’s Surname After A Lengthy Divorce Saga

Renowned Human Rights advocate, and former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Nana Oye has finally reverted to her maiden name Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, dumping her husband’s surname ‘Lithur’.

In 2018, news emerged that Nana Oye and her husband were headed for divorce after many years of marriage.

Mr. Lithur who became famous following the 2012 Election Petition in which he represented then-President John Dramani Mahama, filed for divorce from his wife citing abuse and infidelity among others.

The issue died down after several back and forth from the learned couple who threw accusations upon accusations each other.

However, it appears the divorce proceedings have now been finalized as the former Minister has changed her name on all her social media accounts to her maiden name.
