Bitcoin Hackers Take Over President Obama, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, And Other Top Twitter Accounts To Defraud Millions

Some unscrupulous hackers appear to have waged a war on top verified Twitter accounts in order to defraud unsuspecting persons of their hard-earned money.

The hackers who were after crypto-currency took over accounts belonging to corporations such as Apple and Uber and famous people including President Obama, Bill Gates, and Elon Musk.

A tweet sent from the verified account of former US President Barack Obama asked followers to send bitcoin into a bitcoin account, promising to double whatever they sent in 30 minutes.

Within minutes, unsuspecting people had sent their hard-earned money to the unscrupulous persons and posted screenshot evidence awaiting their returns.

Later, some Twitter users sounded an alarm over the tweets, cautioning fellow users not to send any money since it was nothing but a scam.

Twitter spokeswoman Aly Pavela said the company was looking into the issue and would have more to say later.
