South African rapper AKA has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement published on his official Instagram page.

According to the 32-year old rapper, his decision to make his status public is to create awareness on the disease.
The rapper also revealed that he plans to share his battle with the disease and his daily progress with the public to encourage other persons to adhere to the WHO safety protocols.

South Africa remains the most badly affected country on the continent in terms of the coronavirus pandemic, having recorded a total of 238,339 cases with 113,061 recoveries and 3,720 deaths.
