I Am Ghana’s First Original Dancehall Artiste – Jupitar Brags

Ghanaian musician Jupitar has bragged about his influence in the Ghanaian music industry especially in the dancehall genre, saying he is Ghana’s foremost and original dancehall artiste.

Jupitar made this assertion in an interview on Ghone TV, saying that even though he acknowledges Samini and Shatta Wale’s long presence in the music industry, his own style was authentic and original dancehall.

He made this pronouncement after he was asked who are the real dancehall artistes in the country. According to him, it is his style of original and authentic dancehall music that gave the genre the much-needed attention.

Jupitar acknowledged Samini and Shatta Wale as veterans in the game but emphasized that they did dancehall in their own style. He clarified that he did not mean to disrespect anybody but he believes that even Shatta Wale and Samini would not consider the songs they were doing at first to be authentic dancehall.
