Senior journalist and Editor-in-chief for The New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr. has revealed his intention to donate the total amount of damages awarded in his favour by a court, to charity.
In 2018, Mr Kweku Baako instituted a GHS 25,000,000.00 defamation suit against the controversial lawmaker for Assin Central, Ken Agyapong in respect of a series of comments made against him by the MP which he deemed as defamatory.
After about two years of legal tussle, a court ruled in Mr Kweku Baako’s favour in the suit brought before that court against the MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong.
The Court gave Mr Agyapong 30 days to retract and apologise three times on the platforms he used to defame the veteran journalist on. The court also awarded GHS100,000 damages instead and a cost of GH¢30,000.
Reacting to his Victory, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr said on Joy Fm Newsfile that he would donate the money to Charity.
“You know I had a nickname Kweku Galamsey? There was no attempt to blackmail the president and there was no secret recording of Prez Akufo Addo by Anas. Ken simply lied. The money is not coming to me. Definitely, it’s going to charity. “ He said.
