Despite Media has quickly released a statement to dissociate itself from a statement released on its platforms begging for funds for a ‘Kwadwo Wiafe endowment fund’.

The fact that one of the richest companies in the country was begging for funds to take care of one of its late employees’ family brought the wrath of social media users down on them.

After being trolled over the appeal for funds, a statement has been released to say the company is not in any way associated with the fund.

According to the company, they did not authorise the formation of any such fund and want nothing to do with it.

“We therefore disassociate ourselves from the said fund in its entirety and urge all our business partners, friends, and allies to note that we would not do anything to jeopardise our hard won reputation,” the statement said.
