The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Daniel Asare, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr Asare has not been at work for the past week and a half after his positive diagnosis, Citinewsroom reports.

Dr Asare is receiving treatment in quarantine as he recovers from the illness. Three members of his staff have been placed in self-isolation as result of his positive test.
The Medical Director of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Ali Samba who is also a National coordinator of Ghana’s COVID-19 case management team, is acting CEO in the absence of Dr Asare.
Dr Asare’s diagnosis comes as other top officials in the Public Health Sector also contracted the disease including Health Minister, Kweku Agyeman Manu and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, Lydia Dsane-Selby.

In the private sector, Chief Executive Officer of the Nyaho Medical Centre, Dr Elikem Tamakloe, has also tested positive for the virus.
