Obuor Narrates What Caused His Defeat – Throws His Weight Behind Incumbent

Failed NPP Parliamentary candidate aspirant in the Asante Akyem South Primaries, Bice Osei Kuffuor, Popularly known as Obuor has spoken about his much talked about the defeat in yesterday’s parliamentary primaries.

The former President of the musicians’ union who had launched his bid to unseat the incumbent MP, Kwaku Asante-Boateng to lead the NPP in the constituency into the December 2020 parliamentary election lost the primary by 68 votes. Obour managed 296 votes to trail the incumbent MP who secured 364 votes.

Making his first public speech after the declaration of his loss, Obuor attributed his loss to his political inexperience. “Kwaku Asante Boateng has shown that he is an experienced politician; he’s been in parliament two terms already and he is going the third term. Definitely he may have some tricks I don’t have,” he admitted.

Meanwhile, Obuor said although he lost, he would rally behind the incumbent to retain the seat for the party. “I am sure most of the things that we had campaigned on now that we have a parliamentary candidate the 10,000 votes we promised Nana Addo, it is coming in its numbers,” he declared.
