Bishop Angel Daniel Obinim has finally responded to a claim by Asante Kotoko legend Stephen Oduro that he used to be a top-class footballer during his younger days.
Oduro recently revealed that he used to play with Obinim during their childhood days and he was a really good footballer, so he was surprised when he heard he had abandoned his career to become a pastor.

Obinim has responded to Oduro’s revelation during a recent sermon and he confirmed the story that he used to be a footballer.
According to Obinim, he played with Oduro, Michael Essien and Sammy Kuffour among others during his youth and he was very good.
He said only the call of God led him to abandon his career.
“I used to be a very good footballer. I played with Stephen Oduro, Michael Essien and Samuel Osei Kuffour,” he said.
“I started playing football with them at Alhaji Grunsah’s place. I stopped playing football when I had the message that I’d be a man of God.” he added.
