The General Secretary of The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Reverend Emmanuel T. Barigah says the government should have included Churches in the distribution of the GHS 600 million stimulus package for businesses.
President Akuffo Addo as part of measures to support small and medium scale enterprises to deal with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic announced a GHS 600 million stimulus package for these SME’s in order to support their businesses.
But speaking on Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Reverend E.T Barigah explained that the finances of most churches are down because of the closure, hence the decision by most churches not to immediately open despite the easing of restrictions.

The man of God further explained that most Pastors have had their salaries curtailed as a result of the closure of churches, saying that they would also have been better served if they were given a portion of the stimulus package.
