Ghanaian actress Ama K. Abebrese knocked some real sense into the head of her fellow celebrity Rebecca Acheampong, who we call Becca in showbiz.
Becca had sent out a really stupid tweet roasting some Ghanaians for daring to complain about the George Floyd murder in the United States when they themselves roasted her for getting married to a Nigerian.

“You are here in Africa fighting and advocating racism in the US but in your church/home, you are criticizing and judging someone for marrying a fellow African because they are not from your hometown/country/church… Damn Hypocrites!!!” she wrote on Twitter.
Thankfully many Ghanaians are schooling her for this class 1 argument which she thought was the greatest argument of all time.
One person who really sat Becca down and schooled her is actress Ama K. Abebrese, who demonstrated she has far superior intellect to the backwards brain of Becca.
Ama quote tweeted her post and replied: “Sis they are both wrong, however it’s incomparable to equate the fight for the systemic racism in the USA to African tribalism in marriage and hypocrisy . You can highlight that without appearing to diminish the fight about police brutality. Murder is not marriage. Love always.”
You get the feeling Ama would have gone harder than she did but restrained herself just a bit out of respect for Becca.
We have no such respect and it should be said that was a really stupid tweet and should never have been sent out.
The way some people think it’s acceptable to diminish this really huge issue of systemic racism against blacks in the U.S just to make some point they think is clever about tribalism in Ghana is astounding.
Efia Odo did something similar days back and I called her out on it as well. These whataboutism points are not clever, they’re actually really dumb, reductive and diminishes the seriousness of an issue which should concern every black person on the planet.
Afterall – you never know when you might find yourself in the United States for any reason. Maybe Becca isn’t worried because she doesn’t look black anymore!
