Controversial Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has incurred the wrath of a section of Nigerian music lovers on Twitter after touting himself as Number 1 based on statistics.
The name Shatta Wale is mostly synonymous with 3 three things when mentioned in Ghana. Though mostly associated with controversy, one cannot reasonably overlook the fact that the same name is also associated with Hardwork and Craftsmanship.
However, when it comes to recognition for a man, whose hard work nobody has really doubted, he has significantly fallen short compared to some of his compatriots and contemporaries.
Perhaps, it is on this backdrop that the man Shatta Wale has never failed to seize an opportunity to tout a recognition whenever some have come his way. The latest to be touted by the SM boss is his recognition by World-renowned U.S based music magazine and charting company Billboard as the best local artiste in Ghana.
Reacting to the feat on Twitter, Wale posted, “The world says am No1 through statistics but Ghana music industry says am number Last …Na dat matter we deh try settle since 1960. Big up every shatta Movement fan”
However, Shatta’s usage of the Nigerian flag appears to have infuriated our noisy neighbours, most of whom sought to suggest that the self-acclaimed dancehall king is a local champion, whom they don’t know actually.
