Once upon a time one could hardly watch a Ghanaian movie without seeing Van Vicker in the lead male role or at least lead supporting role while Nigerian movies were dominated with Jim Iyke’s presence. These two actors played anything from love interests to bad boys with many appreciating their acting skills while the girls were dying for them.

Jim Iyke alongside Desmond Elliot and Ramsey Noah were the three main actors in Nigerian movies while Ghana had Van Vicker, Majid Michel and John Dumelo. At the peak of Nollywood and Ghana movies, the combination of Ghana and Nigeria brought these actors together and we had an opportunity to see these actors perform in the same movie.

Inspired by the current IG Verzuz battles that has been happening between musicians and producers, one wonders who will reign supreme if Van Vicker’s work is compared to Jim Iyke’s? Is Van Vicker’s performance in “Princess Tyra” and “Broken Tears” where he starred alongside Yvonne Nelson and Genevieve Nnaji respectively better than Jim Iyke’s acting skills in “Beyonce and Rihanna” and “My First Wife”?

I for one will love to see what these actors will put forward as their best work and I look forward to someone arranging these battles between some of the fine actors and actresses in the movie industry. Imagine a Jackie Appiah versus Nadia Buari or Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo versus Majid Michel, Omotola versus Genevieve Nnaji,IEni Edo versus Tonto Dikeh or Mercy Johnson, one can see how Instagram will blow up if this was made possible.
