She wasn’t born with the condition but it inflicted her at age 7.

Enam after suffering some social stigma herself due to her condition, including people looking strangely at her and refusing to board buses with her, set up the Vitiligo Ghana Foundation.

“People are always asking questions about my skin. They always stare at me and there have been instances when community folks don’t want to board the same bus with you, or have their kids befriend you because they think the condition is contagious,” she told yen.com.gh in a chat.

Enam attended the Keta Nursery and Midwifery Training College for her training and currently works as a nurse.

Vitiligo, according to Wikipedia is a “long-term skin condition characterized by patches of the skin losing their pigment. The patches of skin affected become white and usually have sharp margins. The hair from the skin may also become white,”
