Beef Alert: Comedian Maame Esi Slams Afia Schwarzenegger: Says All She Does Is Insult People, Not Comedy

Maame Esi Forson, popularly referred to as Esi in her comedy videos has taken a swipe at self-acclaimed queen of Ghana Comedy, Afia Schwarzenegger, describing her as someone who insults people and not a comedian.

Maame Esi, who was making an appearance on ETV’s Late Night Celebrity Show, described herself as the real queen of Ghana Comedy since according to her, she brought revival to an industry that was almost fading out.

When asked about Afia Schwarzenegger who has consistently touted herself as Ghana’s undisputed queen of comedy, she said, “Afia  Schwarzenegger is not a comedian. She’s just a drama queen. I don’t see what she does as comedy, she just insults people directly with the aim that people will see that and laugh but that’s not a comedy. That’s why I don’t see her as a comedian”.

Maame Esi also disclosed that she does not allow derogatory comments to affect her output, but rather she uses it as a motivating factor to move higher.
