Two members of Ghana’s parliament have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
The positive results occurred as a result of voluntary testing some MPs underwent.

According to Starrfmonline, two MPs and 13 staff members of the house tested positive from the voluntary testing, forcing the Speaker to order for mandatory testing of all MPs and their staff.
The identities of the positive MPs are being kept under wraps and Speaker Mike Ocquaye has assured the results of the mandatory tests would also be kept confidential.
The infiltration of the virus into Parliament comes at a time Ghana’s COVID figures has jumped to almost 7,000.

In the midst of all that, President Akufo-Addo is reportedly considering options to fully reopen the country.
