Highlife singer turned rapper Sista Afia has started to walk on the path of dancehall artist Shatta Wale but like a child who has done something wrong she has started crying before the mum even touches her with the cane.
Sista Afia has decided to take the blueprint of her former mentor Shatta Wale by reinventing herself as a rapper and courting controversy. The highlife musician dropped a song WMT which was aimed at certain people in the music industry therefore bringing some heat on her. Many thought this is what she wanted when the entire showbiz fraternity jumped on the beef that ensued because of her.
Eno Barony stepped up to her with a diss track with the young rapper Freda Rhymz also getting involved in the situation. Sista Afia did not back down even though two of the hottest female rappers came for her. She rather dropped another diss track called “You Got Nerves” aimed at both rappers. She compared the body of Eno Barony to a beef burger while Freda’s bum was claimed to be non-existent.
Sista Afia’s antics brought the best out of Freda Rhymz with the rapper dropping “Point Of Correction” a diss track that claimed that Shatta Wale, Bisa Kdei and three other artistes have played in Sista Afia’s lady garden. The bars in that song did incite Sista Afia to the point of resorting to violence. A video showed her trying to attack Freda Rhymz on the compound of TV3 and she did say in several interviews that she will beat her up wherever she meets her something that was unnecessary.
Granted Afia’s idol Shatta, has threatened to beat several artistes with Sarkodie being the latest to receive such threats but one cannot say he has not handled most controversies with style. Sista Afia on United Showbiz, a show hosted by Nana Ama McBrown on UTV showed she lacked class and intelligence. The musician not only showed lack of respect for herself and the entire programme, she showed her childish behaviour by disrupting the show every time Freda tried to talk. She decided to make noise and heckle when Nana Ama asked Freda to drop some freestyle calling the rapper emotional although viewers could clearly see who had inherited the emotional nature of Shatta.
Let us know in the comment section if Sista Afia was right to heckle Freda during the entire show and whether her apology was sincere.
