American Churches Record Very Low Attendance Despite President Trump’s Lifting Of Ban On Church Services

Churches in America yesterday recorded significantly low turnout in terms of attendance despite President Trump’s declaration of a lift on the ban on Church services.

President Trump may not consider church essential to his personal life, but it may be to his political future. And so despite expert warnings to the contrary, he unceremoniously demanded that states allow places of worship to reopen “right away” and threatened to overrule any that defy him.

“The governors need to do the right thing and allow these very important, essential places of faith to open right now for this weekend,” Mr. Trump said, reading from a prepared text before leaving after just about a minute without taking questions. “If they don’t do it, I will override the governors. In America, we need more prayer, not less.” He said.

Even though President Trump has demonstrated the greatest commitment to ensure that religious activities are allowed to resume, it appears people are still uncertain about their safety in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Yesterday, attendance in many churches in the US was shockingly low, despite the Churches’ assurance of strictly enforcing safety protocols. One thing that appears to have fueled the people’s fear about going back to worship is the story that broke out about 40 persons being traced to have contracted the virus after attending a church service immediately after the lockdown was lifted in Germany.
