As Ghana and the world continue to battle a complete override of the dreaded coronavirus, it appears some of our most loud-mouthed celebrities, when it suits them would not mind spitting on the face of preventive measures so long as they achieve gratification.
Controversial actress Lydia Forson, who has been one of the most vociferous citizens who have consistently held the government to strict scrutiny on its preventive measures and policies laid out to check the spread of the novel coronavirus, was caught on video at a private party without any slightest regard for the protocols she so advocates.
The video which appears to have been captured at the birthday party of lawyer and TV personality, Sandra Ankobiah, also features acting General Manager of Ghone Tv, Nana Aba Anamoah.
This worrying development has left many Ghanaians wondering how the celebrities involved in this irresponsible act would have acted if it had been politicians who demonstrated such gross indiscretion in the face of a pandemic of such magnitude.

Even though private parties are permitted according to directives set out in the Imposition of Restrictions Act so long as that party does not have more than 25 persons in attendance, any such gatherings are required by the same Act to observe appropriate social distancing and hygiene protocols.
Unless the said video is an old video completely unrelated to the current circumstances, Lydia Forson and her cohorts should bow their heads in shame for such gross recklessness.
