Artistes In Ghana Are Really ‘Hungry’ Like Edem Said – Stonebwoy Supports His Colleague

Dancehall powerhouse Stonebwoy has agreed with the notion that artistes in Ghana are hungry because the structures for them to make money are not in place.

According to Stonebwoy, artistes are releasing goods music which is getting massive airplay but Ghana is not equipped to enable them make money digitally like their colleagues in Europe and other parts of the world.

“Government has helped the creative industry, but more needs to be done. If two (2) million people in Ghana stream our songs through the proper channels, then we can make enough money and help government through the taxes we pay,” Stonebwoy said.

“Talking about digital distribution, government needs to support the industry to digitally monetise our craft,” he added.

His comments seem to agree with his colleague Edem who ran into a lot of trouble Monday after declaring Ghanaian artistes are hungry.
