Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy has shut down the absurd comparisons being made by some Ghanaians on social media between Thomas Teye Partey and Michael Essien.
According to Stonebwoy, even Thomas Partey himself knows that it’s a crime to compare him to Michael Essien, who is a legend of Ghanaian football.
Over the past few weeks a Twitter battle has erupted in which some Ghananains were comparing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Teye Partey with Black Stars legend Michael Essien.

The absurd comparison became a huge issue on Twitter with people divided into two camps – those who believe Partey is better than Essien and those who were ridiculing them for being delusional.
Dancehall star Stonebwy has now added his voice to the issue and lambasted those making the comparisons.
According to him, Teye Partey himself knows it’s a dumb comparison to make.
“I don’t think Thomas Partey endorse this disrespect. Ghanaians like this arguments because it gives them happiness but Essien is a legend and I’m sure Thomas Partey was inspired by people like Michael Essien,” Stonebwoy said.
” People shouldn’t say it for it to seem Partey is the one behind it. I know Partey very well, he is humble and respectful and I don’t think he will approve of this. Essien is a senior man and Partey is doing his part and representing us. So let us not compare the two”. Stonebwoy emphasised.
