Ghanaian Afrobeat Musician, Kwame Eugene has lambasted colleague musicians who tend to brag about their huge following on Twitter. According to him, It is not prudent to judge how you are doing as an artist based on Twitter followers.
The self-acclaimed Rockstar advised his colleagues not to rely on their huge following on Twitter to have the false sense of achievement that they are doing well, saying the hype is mostly false.
Using himself as an example, the afrobeat sensation said he was still getting the streams and getting endorsement deals though he is not popular on Twitter.
He wrote, “Don’t Put Your Trust In Twitter. They give you hype to help you forget you’re failing. Anka Ask yourself why I’m getting all the streams, the views, the shows and the endorsement deals. Focus on the work na nnipa ny3 Nyame”.
