Pastor Poju Oyemade, senior pastor of the Covenant Christian Centre in Lagos, has hit out at his fellow pastors, Chris Oyakhilome and David Oyedepo, for complaining over the closure of churches.
According to Pastor Oyemade, the spirit of God does not reside in a building for it to stop working just because the physical church buildings have been closed down.

Oyemade was reacting after the two aforementioned preachers heavily criticized the Nigerian government for shutting down churches as a way to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.
“The sick healed in the book of Acts were healed on the streets, in people’s homes, in public places and not within the four walls of a Church,” Oyemade said.
“Closing the doors of a physical building does not in any way mean the closure of the anointing of the Spirit from working. Church buildings may be shut down but true faith and the anointing of the Spirit has not stopped working,” he added.
Bishop Oyedepo has taken the closure of churches really hard, even cursing those responsible for it and calling it when the work of the devil when it was simply done to fight the pandemic which is currently killing people all over the world.
These preachers wished their churches were open just so they can keep charging tithes and offerings!
