Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has gained the support of Nigerian Reverend Grace Aiyedogbon for divorcing her husband.
In a live interview on Instagram, the women of God justified the actress’ decision to walk out of her marriage as her husband was abusing her.
According to her, the Bible admonishes women to submit in marriages but not to stay in abusive marriages.
”If any man beats you and you die, that man will go down the lane within two or 3 months and marry another wife, there is an abuse you should not take, there is an abuse you should seek for help… the bible did not say stay there till he kills you” she said.
Actress Mercy Aigbe has earlier admitted that she walked out of her marriage because her ex-husband Lanre Gentry was consistently abusing her.
The actress is now living as a single mother with 2 kids.
