“This Is Not Acceptable, This Is Not Giving” – Nollywood Veteran Hilda Dokubo Slams Nigerians Who “Give For The Cameras”

Veteran Nollywood Actress, Hilda Dokubo has taken to her Instagram page to lash out at some Nigerians who are utilizing their giving of relief items to the vulnerable to achieve camera credibility.

The veteran actress was reacting to a photo of some vulnerable women holding a tuber of yam. Apparently the donor of the yams had asked the women to lift up their tubers so that they could take a picture to achieve whatever purpose.

“What do you call this? Giving? You should never do this to anyone just because you can. It is sad when people take advantage of the vulnerable as though life has not served them enough sour juice”. She wrote.

“We all need support and if you can give it go ahead. Do it and be grateful to God that you have been presented an opportunity to be a blessing to another person. God will truly reward you for every gift you give to the poor…the yam sure will put food in their pots…but this is not acceptable, this is not giving”. She lashed out.

Dokubo made her screen debut during her youth service in a 1992 film titled Evil Passion. She has since been featured and has produced several Nigerian films. Upon starring in a supporting role in a 2015 film titled Stigma, Dokubo won Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 11th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
