Controversial Preacher Sheperd Bushiri Charges Church Members to Watch Sermons from Home During Lockdown

Controversial Malawian preacher based in South Africa, Sheperd Bushiri, known for performing the craziest miracles you can ever think of, is charging his church members money to watch his sermons from home during this lockdown.

Followers of his church, the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) in South Africa, have to pay 80 rand for a monthly subscription to watch sermons through a new church app he’s launched.

The app is called ‘Major 1 Connect’ and has already been downloaded over 10,000 times at last check.

As most countries around the world have been stuck in lockdown due to the spread of COVID-19, church services have gone online.

But whilst most churches offer a free live stream for members to watch, Bushiri has taken it to another level.

The only way to watch his sermons is through the app and the only way to access it is to pay the subscription fee.

In plain terms, Bushiri is charging church members worried about their lives and livelihood to watch him offer them nothing concrete to solving this crisis.

Even in crisis, the business of making money from desperate church members would not stop for Bushiri.
