Renowned Ghanaian Pathologist, Prof. Agyemang Badu Akosa has questioned the integrity of figures being paraded by the ministry of health as the official confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ghana.
On Citi Tv’s Point of View Programme yesterday, the respected professor revealed that the current 1,042 figure being paraded as the official total of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ghana, first appeared on the Ghana Health Service website on 13th April, but was immediately taken down, only to return one whole week later.
The official case graph on the health service website appears to lend credence to the suggestion of the professor. It seems that when the figure was taken down, whoever is in charge of the graph forgot to correct it accordingly.
It can be seen from the graph above that the line stays at the same vertical level between the 13th and 19th.
Government is yet to offer a credible explanation to the professor’s assertion.
