Born Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah Jr. on 19th December 1970 in Edo State to an Israeli father and a Yoruba mother who hails from Owo, Ondo State, He grew up in Surulere, Lagos, where he attended Atara Primary School and Community Grammar School. He obtained a diploma at the University of Lagos, after which he pursued a career in acting.
According to the renowned actor, He was pushed by a friend to venture into acting while he was still considering a career in music. Only 20 years old at that time, Ramsey began auditioning for Tv shows and at his first attempt, he won the role of “Jeff” in the popular soap opera “fortunes” which ran from 1993 to 1994.
Having already established himself as an actor, Ramsey made his major film debut in the movie “Silent Night”. He then featured in several romantic movies, earning him the popular tag “Loverboy”.

In 2004, he starred in the popular movie “Dangerous Twins” which was a first of its kind in Nollywood, where one actor was able to embody the role of two different characters. Ramsey took on the roles of both the good and evil twins, and he discharged the roles with perfection.
His roles in “dangerous twins” announced to the industry his ability to transcend the box of the “lover boy” image he had been conveniently assigned.
In 2010 Nouah won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the Best Picture award-winning film The Figurine. Nouah is considered to be one of the most sought-after actors in Nigeria.

Nouah is married to Emelia Philips-Nouah. The couple have been blessed with two sons and a daughter, named as Quincy, Camil Nouah, and Desiree Nouah.
