Professor Alex Dodoo, a clinical pharmacologist and director-general of the Ghana Standards Authority has revealed that the COVID-19 vaccine will be ready way before the end of this year. The Professor who is also currently serving on some UN and WHO vaccine boards at the global level said eight vaccines have been identified and are in different laboratories around the world.
He said that processes are far advanced to evaluate these vaccines for its safety and efficacy, while also revealing that some of the vaccines have already begun human trials.

Prof. Dodoo further explained that in the next three weeks, they would take a decision as to how many of these vaccines will be allowed to go further with their work.
There has been unconfirmed reports widely circulated in various Newspapers about how some patients are responding well to some experimental drugs and vaccines of the dreaded coronavirus.

There have been 2,193,666 reported cases of coronavirus worldwide with 147,384 deaths and 555,590 recoveries worldwide. Ghana has recorded 641 cases with 8 deaths and 83 recoveries.
