Chorkor Beach Packed As Residents Defy Lockdown Directives

In a bid to enjoy the Easter Sunday, it appears residents of Chorkor, a suburb of Accra have no regard for the president’s directive or appear to have absolutely no fear for the deadly coronavirus, as they trooped to the beach in their numbers to enjoy themselves.

Whiles the fisherfolks were busy mending their nets, hundreds of people who also reside at the popular coastal area were out with their friends and loved ones to chill in clear breach of the social distancing directives issued by the president.

Business was also going on as usual for other vendors who were selling food to the hundreds of people who had thronged the beach to enjoy their Easter Sunday

It would be recalled that the President has issued a lockdown of cities in the Greater Accra, Kasoa, and Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Areas in order to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Ghana has recorded a total of 408 cases with 4 recoveries and 8 deaths.
