Shatta Wale and Sarkodie, two of Ghana’s most successful and celebrated music brands, have for some time now been at loggerheads with each other. This has had considerable ripple effects among even their fans who see each of these artists as nothing less than “gods”.

Shatta Wale, a man who thrives on controversy has never relinquished the opportunity to take a dig at Sarkodie whenever the opportunity has presented itself. A most recent scenario was just this week when Shatta Wale challenged Sarkodie to donate food items and hand sanitizers to his fans just like he has done.

Sarkodie, who claimed in a subsequent response that he had been doing more for his fans but did not see the need to broadcast it as a means of preserving the dignity of the beneficiaries, eventually took the bait as videos and pictures emerged on social media barely 24 hours later, of his management team donating assorted items to various beneficiaries.

In a bid to do more, Sarkodie announced on his social media pages that he planned to do more give-aways to his fans through a live IG session.

Well….guess what? Shatta Wale responded with an intended give-away of his own.

It appears the rivalry between these two icons is not disappearing anytime soon. This is not entirely bad for the industry, as long as the competition is a healthy one. As things stand, the fans on either side stand to benefit a lot.
