Billionaire Nigerian businessman Mike Adenuga has donated 1bn naira to Nigeria’s COVID-19 relief fund.
Adenuga was one of numerous people who made pledges to donate to the fund.
Last week, another billionaire, Femi Otedola, made his donation, and in the aftermath he took to social media to fire his fellow billionaires, calling on them to fulfil their pledges.
Adenuga has now followed suit.
The COVID-19 fund was set up to raise funds from private individuals and businesses to fight the raging pandemic.
So far, 37 individuals and corporate entities have donated to the fund, raising an amount of 15bn naira.
The fund is managed by Nigeria’s Central bank.
