Though dancehall artist Shatta Wale has been concerned about the coronavirus pandemic, he has openly declared not to be an ambassador without getting paid.
Recently, the minister of information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah disclosed that there will be a need for celebrity ambassadors to help create awareness on the coronavirus pandemic but won’t be paid.
Shatta in reacting to that said if the government wants him to be an ambassador then he would have to be paid for that because he’s not going to render his service for free.
Speaking in an interview with MzGee on 3FM, Shatta Wale Said government officials are being paid for every single thing they do therefore if they want to engage any of the artist they have to follow tradition.
Adding that government has to put a package down before they can engage his service as a celebrity ambassador because it will be hard for someone like him to do that for free.

He said “They’re working and they’re getting paid… They’re charging us with taxes here and there and we understand. Our royalties are not getting to us so we’re not even making that kind of money that we have to make; so if government wants to engage me, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie or any other, they should know that there is something that needs to be done. It’s a tradition”
“We can’t come out and say we’re going to do it for free. I’m not part of their political party. It’s best for them to put a package down. Doing it for free will be very hard for someone like me.”
