25 new cases of the COVID-19 infection have been confirmed in Ghana, bringing the total number of cases so far to 52.
The 25 new cases, however, were not recorded in the general population, but from the over 1,000 travellers to the Kotoka International Airport who were quarantined by the government.
185 of the 1,030 people in mandatory quarantine were tested with 25 of them found positive.
This brings the total caseload to 52, with two confirmed deaths.
“Out of the 185 test results received, we have 25 of those quarantined tested positive. If we add on to the earlier number of 27, it means we have 52 people testing positive in our country at the moment,” Health Minister Kweku Agyeman-Manu revealed.
More cases are expected once the additional people in quarantine are fully tested.
