Many marriages have failed because their marital homes rode on the help of a housemaid.
Although most men are against having a maid in their homes because of the obvious label attached to it, lots of ladies defy that and opt for maids nonetheless.
According to one Anglican priest in Nigerian whose name has been given as Rev. Azubuike Mgbikeh, it is not advisable for a married woman to employ the services of a domestic help but all efforts to dissuade some ladies from this venture have proved futile over the years.
Rev. Azubuike says no virtuous woman would opt for house help and even if a woman allows help in her home, that help should not be allowed to prepare soup and stews.
He said: “It’s unfortunate that many women don’t know how to cook. That’s why they will start campaigning for the house help as soon as they get married. Don’t allow the house helps to cook for your husbands.
“A virtuous woman will not do that. If the house help must prepare any meals, not soup and stew.”
He established this when he at Akwa, Anambra State while speaking on Mothers’ Day and what a woman ought to be.
