‘Weed’ Legalized For Medicinal And Industrial Use In Ghana

Ghana has joined African countries like South Africa, Malawi,Zambia and Zimbabwe to decriminalize the use of Cannabis other wise known as ‘Weed’.

Parliament on Friday March 20, passed the Narcotics Control Commission Bill, 2019 to allow the use of Cannabis for medicinal and industrial purposes.

Although the law still prohibits individual use and the trafficking if the drug to ensure public safety, it allows the use of it for health and other important activities through the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB).

The Narcotics Control Board has been granted the powers to control the use of the narcotic drug in the country.
