For any fan of football out there, your favourite sport is going on a bit of a break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
With the devastation the virus is causing all across Europe, all of Europe’s top leagues have been brainstorming ways to combat its spread.
Just today, the English Premier League, the German Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League and Europa Leagues have all been suspended.
The Premier League has been suspended until April 3rd for now, with the situation at that point to be reviewed to determine if the season would continue.
European football’s governing body UEFA has also suspended both top leagues, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League, which are both at the knockout stages.
Finally, the German Bundesliga has also been suspended, although scheduled games for this weekend are expected to go ahead before the suspension takes effect.
These mass cancellations of games come on the heels of news that one of the biggest movies of the year, ‘Fast 9’, being pushed back a year due to the virus.
At this point, there’s literally no aspect of human life that the coronavirus is yet to disrupt.
