There is a scare about the Pope having contracted coronavirus after his scheduled appointments were cancelled for the 3rd day in a row.

The epidemic is currently sweeping through Italy, which has become one of the most affected countries in the world.

During the past week, Pope Francis expressed solidarity with victims of the illness in Italy and around the world.

He was seen sneezing and coughing during an Ash Wednesday mass and that’s the last time he made a public appearance.

The Vatican are not confirming what illness he has, only calling it a ‘slight indisposition’.

He is recuperating at the Vatican’s Santa Marta hotel, the Vatican has announced.
