Nana Aba Anamoah Helps Get A TRACE Ghana Channel to Promote Ghana Music to the World

Star Ghanaian broadcast Journalist-Nana Aba Anamoah can be said to be inherently “troublesome” on social media, especially on Twitter. But her voice on the same platform is one that drives change.

In the last few months, she has tweeted a number of times at TRACE, a music channel dedicated to airing Africa’s top music artists—tenaciously pressing that the music platform should play more Ghanaian music as they do for Nigeria and other countries.

In fact, two years ago, Nana Aba Anamoah used her stage presence at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards to remind TRACE that Ghanaian music is not getting a fair share of air play on their channels.

TRACE has a dedicated Nigeria channel called Trace Naija and so late last year, Nana Aba Anamoah tweeted at them, asking when we will have TRACE Ghana too.

And yesterday, TRACE Naija specifically tweeted at Nana Aba to inform her that from March 2020, there will be a TRACE Ghana channel—dedicated solely to music from Ghana on DSTV Channel 333.

That’s good news and it seems Nana Aba Anamoah’s social media efforts to push Ghanaian music to the world like many others have fetched a great outcome.
