Is Emelia Brobbey A Talented Singer Or A Fraud?

Published by

Kumawood actors and actresses have always tried to penetrate the music scene with majority of them not being successful.

Agya Koo was probably the first to dip into the music scene and continue to perform at different functions especially at funerals with Kwaku Manu releasing a song using his popular line “wo ye me taste”.

The current king of Kumawood movies Lil Win has several songs and is probably the most successful out of the all actors that tried to venture into music. He has headlined some popular shows and have shared the stage with several “real” musicians. Although Lil Win has had some popular songs, he is alleged to have stolen or duped some underground musicians out of their songs to get that level of success.

The latest person from the local scene to get into music is the local version of Jackie Appiah, Emelia Brobbey. The actress who is known for crying in almost every movie just like Jackie Appiah was known for has released a couple of songs with mixed reviews. The first song “Fa me Ko” was deemed garbage by a lot of people with her voice receiving the biggest criticism.

Her latest son “Odo Electric” written by Bullet has had better reviews but that is compared to the previous song. The song features the current queen of Ghana music Wendy Shay and does look like the Ruff Town Record’s magic dust was sprinkled on this track.

Many people in the YouTube comment section of the song have praised her with some even claiming her haters “go bow” now but truth be told her song is only good when compared to her previous work.

Is a Emelia Brobbey a good singer? The answer is an emphatic no but what one cannot deny is that she is trying to improve. The problem is fame and money has opened doors for her to explore and work with at least one of the biggest names in music now.

Emelia has tried her hands on almost everything in showbiz and music is just her latest venture. One would have wished she had studied the game first and come correct, but money opens all doors but staying relevant is the real work which money can’t buy.
