Ghanaian boxer Patrick Allotey, a former WBO Africa Super Welterweight champion, has received a six-month ban from the Ghana Boxing Authority.
Allotey received the ban for assaulting a Ghanaian football fan a fortnight ago.
As reported then, a Ghanaian football fan Michael Siaw was pummelled into the ground by boxer Patrick Allotey on January 26th because he was jubilant over Asante Kotoko’s 2-1 win over Accra Hearts of Oak.
A video of the beating went viral.
Following disciplinary proceedings, the GBA decided on the 6-month ban.
Allotey is also facing charges of assault after Siaw and his family reported the matter to police.
