Ghanaian highlife Legend Kofi B, born Kofi Boakye Yiadom is ‘gone’ — he died yesterday, 2nd February 2020.
Highlife musician Kofi Nti who has been a friend and a brother to the late musician has recounted in an interview how he died.
According to him, he is aware Kofi B had hypertension but he didn’t know the situation had deteriorated.
He noted that a week ago Kofi B called to inform him that he wasn’t feeling well and was receiving treatment at the End Point Homeopathic Clinic.
Following that, they were booked for a birthday bash for the chief at Abaase Domenase, Central Region on Sunday, February 2.
At about 2:30 he heard a loud knock at his door. Kofi B complained he wasn’t feeling well and he took him to a nearby hospital.
According to him, the situation was to the extent that he had to carry him in his arms to see the doctor.
However, upon arrival, Kofi B was pronounced dead — Kofi B died in his arms before they reached the hospital.
“I was still sleeping until I heard a big knock again that he couldn’t help it so I woke up and rushed him to a nearby hospital in his car that we drove in together to this place.
“When we got to the hospital, I had to carry him to see the doctor but I was told he died before we got to the hospital.

“As we speak now, Kofi B is no more and his remains are at the mortuary where they refer to as the cold room here”, he said.
“I am sure the family members will love to do an autopsy to find out what killed their loved one.
“The sad news is that Kofi B died at dawn today [February 2, 2020]. He is no more and I am going to miss him because he was more than a brother to me” he added.
The late Kofi B is remembered for his songs like; ‘Akua Donkor, Yaw Dompre’, ‘Mmobrowa’, Koforidua Flowers etc.
