A Ugandan Imam has been suspended for getting married to a fellow man.
According to the report, Sheikh Mohammed Mutumba of Kyampisi Masjid Noor mosque in Kayunga District tied the knot with his ‘wife’ Ms Swabullah Nabukeera two weeks ago after they met in the same mosque.
Daily Monitor reports that the newly wedded ‘wife’ continually denied having s*x with her husband on terms that she was menstruating.
Whilst waiting for her period to be over, a neighbour accused the Imam’s wife of jumping over walls to the next house to steal clothes and television set.
Upon investigation, the police saw that Ms Swabullah Nabukeera had stuffed her chest with clothes and had a male genital.

Her husband Sheikh Mohammed Mutumba, a 27-year-old man of Kyampisi Masjid Noor mosque has since been suspended as it goes against their faith.
